20th Filipino-Korean Cultural Festival

The United Korean Community Association in the Philippines in partnership with the Department of Tourism of the Philippines held the 20th Filipino-Korean Cultural Festival yesterday, October 29, 2011 at the Aliw Theatre in Pasay City.
 

The event was hosted by Ms. Kim Hyeon Sun and Mr. Jojo A. The tickets were huge and it served as the program manual for everyone + it’s free!

A contest for both Koreans and Filipinos was held where Korean contestants can either sing or dance to Filipino songs; and likewise to Filipinos. The grand prize was a staggering amount of Php 50,000.00. Who wouldn’t want that?

Other guests like X-Crew, Dasuri Choi, JM de Guzman and Julie Anne San Jose came to perform for the said event.

2011 MTV EXIT Philippines

MTV EXIT Concert was held last night to raise the awareness and fight against Exploitation and Human Trafficking at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds in Manila.

The event was hosted by MTV Asia VJ Holly Grabarek, Ramon Bautista and Tado.

Performances from Itchyworms, Ebe Dancel, Pupil, Parokya ni Edgar boosted the crowd with wild cheers and famous OPM Hit songs such as ‘Penge Naman Ako Nyan’, ‘Hari ng Sablay’, ‘Disconnection Notice’, and ‘Halaga’. An American Band ‘called Avalon’ also performed for the event.

JAY PARK
Korean-based performer Jay Park (박재범) was the highlight of the whole concert as KPop fansin the Philippines gathered in the crowd shouting his name all-through-out the concert.

As Ramon Bautista said, “Jay Park, J for Jurassic Park, the crowd went wild as he entered thestage performed BOB & Bruno Mars’ ‘Nothing On You’ (w/ Korean lyrics).

The crowd also cheered “Take It Off” wherein Jay answered, “I didn’t know there are manydirty-minded people here” that made the crowd laugh and say “Yeah!”.

Personal Reactions/Comments:

* Last night’s Jay Park event was the best part of the whole day (October 29,2011)

* It was my first time to attend a Korean event and it really was awesome

* Jay Park said he’d come back! I think he loves the love given to him by Filipinos

* Thank You to the 20th Fil-Kor Culture Fest organizers and Arirang Town Philippines

* Thank You Emkei Cortes for the ticket on the MTV EXIT!

HELLO GUYS! My good teacher Hyunwoo Sun will hold a Hangeul Day Exhibition for this year! 

I’ve participated for the last Hangeul Day Celebration (2010) and it was really awesome! 
The exhibition will be held in South Korea, I’m excited!
